This shirt is designed to be worn ‘upside down’. This is made possible by the use of a strap behind the neck – a device which is clearly visible in the original design sketch – and two shoulder pads. Once on the body, the hem of the shirt falls forward to form an inverted collar decorated with a huge organza bloom. The canone inverso shirt is one of Ferré’s most creative and ‘intellectual’ designs. The author conceived, thanks to a complex design, to subvert the criterion of the shirt and succeed on this purpose trough the control of all the structural element of the garment.
